Election 2004: "Necks Elect Noose"

America is the greatest damned mass of foolish, ignorant peasantry the world has ever produced. Not once before in the human race's mutable existence has there been a nation of such monumental idiocy; and what's more astounding is that history has given these dopes self-determination. In the exercise of this self-determination, America (if we are not so skeptical but as to actually believe the tally) has chosen to let George W. Bush lead it for another four critical years, and we are at once given a demonstration of our extraordinary mass moronism, and of the stunning depth of our ancestors' genius.

Particularly interesting about 39 minutes into the feed. About how the brain reorganizes uses.

In other words, stimulating one part of the brain could cause a reprioritization of brain function. So you could dumify the public very quickly just by hitting the anterior part of the brain.

I don't think Americans are stupid either. Only 30 percent of them voted for Bush; maybe 10 percent of those because of his actual policies. Most of them voted for him for other reasons. So virtually all of the country opposes what he's actually doing, and the presidential campaigns (run by the PR industry) were very careful to talk about anything else (swift boats; national guard records). Unfortunately, what people want enters into conflict with what business wants; as such presidential campaigns work very hard to appeal to one without offending the other. That means avoiding issues, generally.

People aren't stupid: they want jobs, health care, education, higher standards of living. But what people want is off the table when business finances campaigns.
