Ralph Nader Holds Press Conference in Washington, DC 1:00 PM, November 10, 2004
Was Every Vote Counted Accurately?
Nader/Camejo Goes Forward with Hand Recount in New Hampshire

Washington, DC: Independent Presidential Candidate Ralph Nader will be holding a press conference at 1:00 in at 1616 P Street, NW, 7th Floor. The press conference will focus on widespread reports of voting problems that raise questions about vote counting. The United States needs to face up to serious shortcomings in its electoral process so that we can have trust in the results of the vote.

Nader/Camejo has requested a hand recount of the vote in New Hampshire because of reports of anomalies favoring President Bush in towns that used the Diebold AccuVote optical scan machines. A hand recount will either rule out the possibility of machine error or show a discrepancy in the Diebold machine and the actual vote—either way voters need to know. To review the request for a hand recount in New Hampshire visit www.VoteNader.org. Similar inexplicable results have been found in other states, including Ohio. Nader has called on John Kerry to demand that every vote be counted accurately. His campaign has remained strangely silent on the matter.

This election has highlighted the need for electoral reform including federal standards for federal offices and non-partisan administration of the elections from ballot access, through debate participation and to how the vote is cast and counted.

If they find voter fraud in New Hampshire, A) the state was already declared for Kerry , and B) even if it wasn't, there aren't enough electoral votes in New Hampshire to change the outcome of the election.

Someone needs to challenge Ohio. Yes, Kerry should do it himself, but Nader's just blowing in the wind again if he doesn't stands up for Ohio as well. Cause New Hmpshire can't save us from Bush. More political statement with no real muscle behind it, and he has the power to put muscle behind it this time.

If he doesn't challenge Ohio, I'll just go back to my theory that he's a republican in sheep's clothing. Cause to just challenge New Hampshire just makes Kerry look bad. Tackling Ohio is actually taking the republicans on.

I don't think Nader wasn't on the ballot in Ohio. Don't know if that makes a difference.

Secondly, voter fraud is an important issue regardless of outcome. Our whole voting system deserves scrutiny. If Ralph Nader is the only person willing to address it, then I'm with him, since it's an issue I care about.

Excuse me. I meant, I don't think Nader wasn't NOT on the ballot in Ohio.

Damn, you are right!!! OK, I apologize to Nader and appreciate that he is standing up against Bush in New Hampshire.

Cobb was on the ballot there. Here's his news release on voter fraud in Ohio. (Cobb Campaign Contact Info) -

I had emailed Cameron Kerry yesterday, because I read that Kerry's lawyers were looking into voter fraud allegations. Here's what he wrote supporters today:

I am grateful to the many people who have contacted me to express their
deep concern about questions of miscounting, fraud, vote suppression, and
other problems on election day, especially in Florida and Ohio. Their
concern reflects how much people care about the outcome of this election.

I want to you to know we are not ignoring it. Election protection lawyers
are still on the job in Ohio and Florida and in DC making sure all the
votes are counted accurately. I have been conferring with lawyers
involved and have made them aware of the information and concerns people
have given me. Even if the facts don't provide a basis to change the
outcome, the information will inform the continuing effort to protect the
integrity of our elections.

If you have specific factual information about voting problems that could
be helpful to the lawyers doing their job, please send it to vri@dnc.orgrather than to me.

The election protection effort has been important to me personally, and I
am proud of the 17,000 lawyers around the country who helped. It's
obvious that we have a way to go still, but their efforts helped make a
difference. Their work goes on.

Thank you,

Cam Kerry
But these guys were also on the ballot in Ohio, so it might not hurt writing them as well. Is today the last day to challenge Ohio? I think it's either today or tomorrow.

Here are some other people who ran in Ohio:

David Keith Cobb (info@votecobb.org)
Joe Schriner (joeschriner@hotmail.com)
Thomas F. Zych (Tom.Zych@ThompsonHine.com)
